Meet Origin Codex
What is Origin Codex?
A platform for writing, organizing and shaping your knowledge. It brings documents, vaults, presentations and AI tools together so you can follow your sources and the history of your work.
It is part of the Origin Metaverse ecosystem. Integration with worlds and HoloBoard is a vision in development; the web tools are already the starting point.
What can I do with Origin Codex?
Create documents, organize sources in vaults, write with tables, code, diagrams and equations, build presentations in Codex Deck, and preserve versions and records with IP Shield.
With configured models you can also ask Ori about your sources, synthesize content and request text or visual proposals. You review and decide what to use.
What can I do without configuring an AI model?
Write and edit documents, organize vaults and build presentations manually: add slides, reorder them, place text and images and refine the design. You can also write diagrams and equations without requesting generation.
Nodes still help you structure your work. Features that need a model show what remains to be configured; you do not need AI to start creating.
How is Origin Codex different from other systems?
Its approach connects knowledge with what you produce: sources, documents, node workflows and presentations belong to the same journey.
Choose your AI providers, distinguish generated proposals from your own edits and retain the history of your work. That combination guides the Origin Codex experience.
What is a Vault in Origin Codex?
A space for collecting and organizing documents and knowledge. It can represent research, a course, a project or your team’s work.
Permissions determine who can access it. A vault can supply sources to Ori or Codex Deck; connecting it does not generate content by itself.
AI and connections
What uses AI in Origin Codex?
Features that call a model use AI: Ori answers, writing or synthesis proposals, assisted translations and resource generation with a configured provider. Usage depends on the models and providers involved.
Embeddings can also incur usage: indexing or reindexing documents for semantic search and querying those sources. With that feature configured, saving changed text or compiling a deck can trigger indexing even without pressing a generation button.
Moving nodes, editing the design, reordering slides and presenting an existing composition do not require AI generation.
Can I connect my ChatGPT or Claude agent through MCP?In progress
MCP —Model Context Protocol— connects agents to tools and data sources. ChatGPT and Claude support MCP connections, subject to each service’s configuration and permissions.
We are building the Origin Codex MCP. A public, read-only connection to public documents comes first. After that, you will be able to connect your agent to your vaults, with an agent key or with your account, to query them with your own permissions and propose documents that you review before they are added.
You cannot link your agent with your vaults yet. Connecting provider keys to use Ori is a separate feature.

What is Codex Deck and how is it different?
Codex Deck is Origin Codex’s presentation tool. A deck is a collection of slides; a slide is one page of that presentation.
Nodes connect sources, organize an outline and combine text, images, diagrams and equations. Automate steps with AI and finish the design with direct editing. The workflow and its visual output stay connected.
Can I work with my team in Origin Codex?
Yes. Invite members into your workspace and share knowledge according to their roles and permissions.
Sharing a workspace does not mean every tool supports simultaneous coediting. Codex Deck detects save conflicts so you can resolve them; it does not yet offer live node coediting like a collaborative office suite.
What helps with scientific or engineering documents?
The editor combines structured text, tables, code blocks, Mermaid diagrams and LaTeX formulas in one document. Explain each idea with the right resource while keeping its content together.
Vaults help organize sources, and Ori can propose cited syntheses when configured. AI proposals need your review: citations do not replace checking results or scientific rigor.
Can I launch crowdfunding campaigns in Origin Codex?Roadmap
Not yet. Crowdfund is on the roadmap and is not available for launching campaigns or collecting funds through the platform.
